An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on November 13, 2019 from approximately 9:35 am-11:15 am. Upon arrival to the center, there were 16 children present with two staff members and one parent volunteer. The children were observed playing in centers, participating in circle time, and doing various worksheets to include number and word recognition. Two classrooms, the fellowship hall, one restroom and the outdoor playground were inspected. The center does not provide transportation nor does it administer medication.
Based on record review, in two of two staff records reviewed, the center did not ensure that staff have all required background checks completed before employment.
Evidence: The Director confirmed that there was not a sworn statement or affirmation completed for Staff #1 (date of hire 1996) and Staff #2 (date of hire 2017).
Plan of Correction:
The staff members completed a sworn statement during the inspection. The CPS and Fingerprint background checks were already completed prior to employment for both staff members.
