Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 05/01/2020 and concluded on 05/05/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 24 children present and four staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed three children's records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.
Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years.
Evidence: 1. The most recent immunizations on file for child 1, age 13 months, were administered on 06/11/2019. a. Child 1 was in care on 05/01/2020. b. The program director confirmed that updated immunizations were not on file for child 1 as of 05/05/2020 when the record was reviewed.
Plan of Correction:
All current children's files will be audited and corrected by 05/15/2020. Going forward all families will have a paperwork appointment or file audit prior to returning into care to ensure all files are complete.
