All child care programs must continue measures to keep children physically distanced and with consistent caregivers, use face coverings, monitor children and staff for symptoms, and maintain ongoing compliance with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) health and safety recommendations. All programs are required to notify VDH and the licensing inspector and follow all recommendations if there is a confirmation of a positive case of COVID-19.
Provided consultation on:
1) Standard 22 VAC 40-185-150: Form and content of immunizations and physical examination reports for children - shall be signed by a physician, his designee, or an official of the health department.
2) Standard 160B: Acceptable forms of documentation of a negative tuberculosis (TB) screening are 1. A clearance statement signed by a physician, the physician's designee or an official of the local health department; 2. The results of a negative tuberculin skin test (TST) including the date the test was given and results of the test to be signed by a physician, the physician's designee or an official of the local health department; or 3. The results of a chest x-ray negative for tuberculosis disease.
3) Standard 530: requires current certification in First Aid/CPR by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or other designated program approved by the Department of Social Services.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/4/2021 and concluded on 2/8/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 11 children present, ages six months - eight years of age, with six staff supervising. The Inspector reviewed four children's records, four staff records, the emergency drill log, meals and snacks, naptime, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of toys and surfaces, and daily indoor and outdoor activities. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
