Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 02/15/2022. There were 34 children present with 6 staff supervising.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies. A total of 3 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. 8VAC20-780-240-A Based on record review, staff did not complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment. Evidence: 1) The record for Staff #3 (start date 10/14/2021) did not contain documentation that certifies that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course had been completed. The center director stated that Staff #3 has not completed the course.
Plan of Correction:
Staff #3 will complete the training.

Evidence: 1) The center director stated that the 2 staff persons assigned to room Green have not completed certification in CPR.

Staff in room Green will be certified in CPR in March. All staff will be certified during back-to-school training next school year.
