Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on 1/25/2021, and concluded on 2/03/2021, approximately from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. There was 27 children supervised by 24 direct care staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection.
The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, children activities, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills were inspected. During the inspection, children were observed individual activities. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on review of staff records, the child day center did not authorize the center to obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record check from any state in which the staff resided in teh preceding five years by the deadline December 31, 2020.
Evidence: Staff #4 lived in Massachusetts (MA) within the last 5 years. The results of a criminal history check were not obtained from MA.
Plan of Correction:
Note staff member received FBI criminal check the new state check was implemented after employee was hired. MSNV will immediately run this check.
