Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/02/2022. There were 111 children, ages 4 months- 5 years, and 22 staff members providing direct supervision and various support staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, special care provisions and emergencies, special services, and background checks. The children were observed during outdoor time, teacher directed activity, meal time and rest time. A total of 5 children?s records, 5 staff records and 4 medications were reviewed. The inspector discussed the following with the provider: playground and medication. The inspector arrived for the onsite inspection at 10:15 am and departed at 1:15 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. In the Pre-K 1 room, there was an unlocked cabinet under the sink. This cabinet contained 1 can of Microban, 1 bottle of Purell sanitizer, and 1 can of Lysol wipes.
2. In the Toddler 2, a spray bottle label ?spray disinfected was on the changing table. No diaper was taking place at this time.
3. In Pre-K 2 room, there was an unlocked cabinet under the sink. This cabinet contained 1 can of Clorox wipes, 2 bottles of Purell Surface Disinfectant and Dawn power wash.

Plan of Correction: All hazardous substances were placed in a locking cabinet during the inspection.
