Child Support Awareness Month recognizes the important role child support services play in promoting the well-being of children and strengthening families. It is also an opportunity to recognize the dedication and teamwork that make these outcomes possible.
Through the work of the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE), Virginia continues to make significant progress in helping children thrive. DCSE manages approximately 247,000 child support cases serving more than 310,000 children across the Commonwealth. Each year, the Division collects and distributes about $601 million in child support payments to Virginia families, helping provide greater financial stability and meet children's everyday needs.
Across field offices, customer service centers, legal teams, program staff and support functions, the work of DCSE and the entire Virginia Department of Social Services system plays a vital role in connecting children to the resources they deserve for a stable and promising future.
