Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/26/2020 and concluded on 5/27/2020. The director or in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no participants present and 1 staff. The inspector emailed the director/person in charge a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 participant?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the director/person in charge COVID-19 guidance posted on the ADCC webpage.

Description:	Based on a review of staff records, the facility failed to ensure that direct care staff received certification in first aid within 60 days of employment. EVIDENCE: 1. The record for staff person 2, hired on 6/24/2019, did not contain documentation of certification in first aid. A phone interview with staff person 4 expressed that this employee does not have first aid certification.
Plan of Correction:	Due to COVID-19 the facility is currently closed and does not have an anticipated reopen date at this time. The Administrator will ensure that this employee receives certification in first aid within 60 days of the facility reopening.
