Technical Assistance:
Please note that new Standards and Regulations for Licensed Adult Day Care Centers has undergone a comprehensive review resulting in new Standards and revisions to old Standards that are effective 12/09/2019. There have been major changes in the requirements of the following policies and procedures: Fire Drill Documentation, Vehicle Emergencies, First Aid and CPR training, Activity Coordinator requirements, Health Care Supervision, Participant Rights, Program of Care, Staff Training, Incident Reporting and Documentation, Participant Emergencies, Infection Control Plan, Medication Management Plan, Emergency Preparedness and Fire and Emergency Drills. At the next inspection, these policies and procedures will be reviewed for completeness.

The updated Standards are available on the DSS website.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/22/2020. At the time of entrance two residents were in care with two staff providing care. The sample size consisted of three participant records, two staff records and two individual interviews. Resident and staff records and other documentation were reviewed. No new staff have been hired since the previous inspection conducted on 5/30/2019. Residents were observed eating breakfast and engaging in activities including current events and a dog therapy visit. No medications were administered during the inspection however medications were reviewed. No violations cited today and exit interview held.
