1) Ensure staff review all paperwork prior to filing to ensure all information is accurate and complete (ex. One Do Not Resuscitate Order was not completed in the second section).
2) Reviewed some of the new standards on medication administration documentation and answered questions and made recommendations for change (ex. putting the diagnosis by each medication rather than at the bottom of the medication administration records).
3) Although two fire drill logs are kept on file for each fire drill, ensure the time is on both forms (ex. The model form did not include the time; however, the facility form did). Also recommended the section for date and time be separated out on the model form so staff will include the time of the drill.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/15/20 and concluded on 10/16/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 10 participants present and one nurse and two certified nursing aides on duty. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two participants' records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Selected sections of five additional participant records and one additional staff record were also reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued. The licensing inspector has reviewed with the director COVID-19 guidance posted on the ADCC webpage.
