Technical Assistance:

1. The facility has a brand new pharmacy and MAR system being set up. We discussed the format needed for sliding scale insulin, insulin in general and the parameters that should go along with the orders. 2. Discussed how the facility is accessing DARS services for several of their residents. 3. Discussed the issues related to the behaviors for resident 4 and options for intervention.

Comments:

A mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on site. The facility is currently Covid free. Their census was 24. They are a residential only facility. Three staff records were reviewed with no additional new background checks to review. Three resident records were reviewed completed, one resident record for the sliding scale MAR only and one related to some ongoing behavioral issues. All outside inspections and related drills were current as was health care oversight. As noted in technical assistance the facility just changed pharmacies and are setting up their electronic MAR system. Postings were as required and the name of the new ombudsman was changed on resident rights. The facility was clean and odor free. Residents voiced no concerns. The facility's 2023 inspection will be for the renewal of their current license. Thank you to residents and staff for your cooperation during this monitoring inspection.
