Technical Assistance:

Emergency Food Supply - 980.H You never know when a disaster at your facility might strike. Facilities may face incidents such as fire, long power outages, storms, gas leaks, plumbing and water main issues. An emergency food supply (for breakfast, lunch, dinner) shall be kept on site of foods that do not require refrigeration or utilities to prepare. The emergency food supply kept on site shall be based on residents in care.

Comments:

An initial inspection was conducted at the facility on 2/14/22 due to a change in ownership. The administrator reported 72 residents in care on the day of the inspection. The inspector inspected the building for compliance and reviewed: (1) four staff records and certifications along with background checks for all staff hired within the past 6 months, (2) medication storage and administration, (3) required postings. The inspector shared the results of the inspection with the administrator on the date of inspection, where findings were reviewed and an opportunity was given for questions, as well as for providing any additional information or documentation. Policies and procedures were reviewed previously by Department representatives. The information gathered during the inspection determined one non-compliance with applicable standards or law, the violation is documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Description:	Based on an inspection of the building on 2/14/22 , the facility did not have posted menus for snacks for the current week in an area conspicuous to residents. Evidence: The licensing inspector observed that there was no posted menus of snacks during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:	Inventory of 48 hour emergency supplies was done and additional items ordered for breakfast to have on hand for emergency situations.
