An inspection was conducted after self reported incident was sent to the Fairfax Licensing Office by Common Ground Child Care. The inspection was conducted between 9:30am and 11:15am. The inspector discussed the incident with the director and confirmed that the incident was a violation of the regulations. The evidence supported the violation that is listed on the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-340-F Description: Based on observation and interview, a child under the age of 10 years was not within sight and sound supervision of staff.
Evidence: During an interview with a staff member, it was determined that Child #1 was located in a classroom after the lead and assistant teacher left the room. The room was within sound of the administration area, but no teacher was within sight of the child.Plan of Correction: The staff members have both been retrained. Also, a new policy of checking name to face using the attendance program every 15 minutes while not in the classroom and when the children line up and when they arrive.
