An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 8/23/2022 from 10:45am-1:00pm. There were 93 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 18 direct care staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, napping, singing, and eating lunch. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation, areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: On the preschool playground, 5 tricycles had rust on the frames.Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. Will replace and order today.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-440-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that occupied cots have at least 12 inches of between them.
Evidence: There were thirteen occupied cots in the toddler classroom that had approximately 1 - 4 inches of space between them.Plan of Correction: We will change the routine to make additional space for the cots.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G Description: Based on observation, not all of the food containers brought from home were clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.
Evidence: In the 3's classroom, 2 of 2 food containers were missing the date.Plan of Correction: Will date.
