This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 7/15/20 and concluded on 7/16/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 22 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: Based on a review of three staff records and interview, it was determined that the licensee did not ensure that all employees completed an updated search of the central registry finding every five years from the previous date of completion.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff #1, working during the inspection, contained documentation of a search of the central registry finding that was dated 4/8/15.
2. Staff #3 (Program Director) reviewed the record for the staff #1, and confirmed that staff #1 did not complete an updated search of the central registry finding.Plan of Correction: The facility responded: Staff #1 was not working as the facility was closed and her search of the central registry finding expired during the closure of the facility. An updated search of the central registry finding was completed and sent off for staff #1. We will forward a copy to the Licensing Inspector once we receive it. All current staff will complete an updated search of the central registry finding every five years.
