This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on February 23, 2021 and concluded on February 26, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection at 10:45 a.m. A virtual inspection was then conducted. There were 38 children present, ages 2 years through 4 years old under the care and supervision of 8 staff. Children were observed preparing for lunch, having lunch and having quiet play time before nap. Lunch is brought from home. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Emergency drills were up to date.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
