The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website childcareva.com. The violations listed below reflect the new VDOE codes and standards.
New CDC Standards will be effective 10/13/2021.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was conducted today. The Program Manager was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted using FaceTime. There were 9 children present, ranging in ages from 3 to 5. with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. No medication was reported to be on-site. Children bring food from home. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Evidence:
4 of 4 lunch boxes/food containers were missing today's date and 3 of 4 were missing the child's name.Plan of Correction: Staff were retrained to add child's name and date to each child's lunch daily.
