An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/25/2024 and completed on 9/25/2024. The on-site inspection began at 8:15 am and ended at 9:00 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 19 children present and four staff. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: The center is required to have employees undergo a background check every five years.
The most recent central registry check for Staff #4 and Staff #5 was overdue by one year and nine months.Plan of Correction: The director will initiate and complete a central registry check for all employees who are overdue.
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-3 Description: The center must request a search of the central registry prior to the employee's first day of employment.
Staff #1, Staff #2 and Staff #3 did not have a central registry check.Plan of Correction: The director will initiate and complete a central registry check for all employees.
Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: The center, which serves preschool-age children, shall be equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.
