An unannounced renewal Inspection took place on April 2, 2024 between the hours of approximately 9:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. There was 1 classroom observed with a total of 36 children with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed finishing morning snack and preparing to begin morning activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures was completed during this inspection. 4 staff records and 4 children's records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on record review, the center did not maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions.
Evidence: At the time of inspection, center staff were unable to locate the allergy list.Plan of Correction: The special need list is located in the desks in rooms 110 and 193.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place.
Evidence:
1. One all-purpose cleaner and three bottles of laundry detergent were in an unlocked cabinet under a sink in room 193, accessible to children.
2. A multi-purpose spray adhesive (warning label states to keep out of reach of children) was located in an unlocked arts and crafts cabinet in room 193, accessible to children.Plan of Correction: All cleaning supplies and glue are located in the closets in rooms110 and 193.
