Effective January 1, 2025, VDOE will begin determining compliance with 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on December 10, 2024 and completed on December 10, 2024 as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:09 am and ended at 12:01pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 13 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children's records and 3 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on December 19, 2024 . A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: The center shall ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, are maintained in a clean, safe, operable condition.
In the occupied two/three year old classroom, the front portion was covered in black plastic held down by two wooden logs with visible debris from the ceiling.
