An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 9/11/2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:10 pm and ended at 3:00 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 26 children present and 6 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: The center is required to obtain background checks from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years. Staff #5 did not have documentation of requesting a central registry check from one state. Plan of Correction: Will secure background check.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: The center is required to keep a current list of all known allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions in each room or area where children are present. The list must be dated and kept confidential. The list in Children's House was not dated. Plan of Correction: Fixed during inspection.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-A Description: Staff shall complete a minimum of 16 hours of training annually, appropriate to the age of children in care. Staff #2 had not obtained the 16 required hours in 2023. Plan of Correction: Staff will take their training as per regulations.
