During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 10/29/2024, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:00am and ended at 12:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 97 children present and 19 staff. The inspector reviewed 8 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-3 Description: The center must request a search of the central registry prior to the employee's first day of employment.
Staff #1, who had been employed for over 90 days and staff #2 who has been employed for over 60 days, did not have documentation of central registry search being requested or documentation of follow up from the center regarding results not being returned.Plan of Correction: Center to process/contact OBI to obtain clearances and document follow up
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-130-E Description: The center shall obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years.
Child #5 did not have documentation of additional immunizations every six months between 18 and 24 months old.Plan of Correction: Center to request updated immunizations. Center will update immunization records to track dates prior to child turning 2 years old.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-B Description: After the first license, annual approval from the health department shall be provided, or approvals of a plan of correction, for meeting requirements for water supply and sewage system.
The center did not have documentation of annual water supply and sewage system inspection.Plan of Correction: Center in contact with health department to request inspection.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P Description: When an authorization for medication expires, the parent shall be notified that the medication needs to be picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization. Medications that are not picked up by the parent within 14 days will be disposed of by the center.
