An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/28/2023. There were 9 children, ages 3 years-4years and 3 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 children?s records and 1 staff record were reviewed. The children were observed during center time and lunch. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:37am and departed the center at 11:24am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances, such as cleaning materials, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: The blue cabinet underneath the sink in between the bathrooms in classroom A was unlocked and had cleaning materials inside. No children were observed in the area but it was accessible to children.Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure cabinet is locked at all times.
