Technical Assistance Provided: Effective January 1, 2025, VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on November 6, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 10:00am and ended at 12:11pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 63 children present and 18 staff. The inspector reviewed 8 children?s records and 7 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-J Description: Injury prevention procedures shall be updated at least annually based on documentation of injuries and a review of the activities and services.
The injury prevention procedures were last updated in 2022.Plan of Correction: I will review the procedures and update as needed today.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A Description: Each center shall maintain and keep at the center a separate record for each child enrolled that contains all of the required information.
The record for Child #1 and Child #6, enrolled for 2 weeks, was missing the following required components: names of persons authorized to pick up the child, name and phone number of child's physician, and the previous child day care attended by the child.Plan of Correction: I will have the parents complete the information on the application when they pick up their children today.
