An inspection was conducted virtually after the center reported an incident regarding the supervision of children. After reviewing all the available facts this investigation led to some violations of the standards. The center has been presented with a violation notice.
The ongoing compliance with the standards is the responsibility of the licensee.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-E Description: A staff failed to follow the centers procedures regarding supervision of children.
Evidence: Based on the information gathered during the investigation the staff failed to bring the clip board listing the children present, when they went outside, as well as follow the face to name check and counting the children when they went inside.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-340-F Description: On 11/23/21 a staff member failed to keep children under the age of 10 in sight and sound supervision.
Evidence: Staff 1, took a group of 8 children outside to play on the field at 4:25 pm. The group stayed outside for 10 minutes and then the staff member went back inside with the children. Two children ages 8 and 5 did not come inside with the other children. The staff did not see the children going to the playground, where they were found by a teacher from the school and brought to the SACC room after approximately 3 minutes.Plan of Correction: Not available online.
