An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 7/17/2023. There were 98 children, ages 3 months -11 years, 22 staff and 4 administrative staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. Medications for children were observed during the inspection. A total of 4 children?s records and 4 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during circle time, center time, handwashing, lunch and active time on the playground. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:14am and departed the center at 12:04pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances, such as cleaning materials, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: The cabinet below the sink in the two?s classroom was unlocked and cleaning solutions were observed inside the cabinet. No children were observed in the area but it was accessible to children.Plan of Correction: Provider will make sure staff lock cabinet after cleaning.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-290-A-3 Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that in areas used by children of preschool age or younger electrical outlets shall have protective covers that are of a size that cannot be swallowed by children.
Evidence: Licensing Inspector observed the top outlet along the wall where the clock radio was plugged in did not have an outlet cover. There were no children observed near the wall with the clock radio but it was accessible to children.Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure outlets are covered.
