This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review and interviews.
A complaint inspection was conducted on September 22, 2021 to investigate an allegation that there was too much time between meal and snack time for children in attendance more than six hours per day.
Based on the information gathered this complaint is found to be valid and a violation was cited in the area of food service. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-C Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on interview and record review, the center failed to schedule snacks or meals so there is a period of no more than three hours between each meal or snack unless there is a scheduled rest or sleep period for children between the meals and snacks
Evidence:
1. There is more than 3 hours between breakfast and lunch for children who concurrently attend the before school program and full day preschool.
a. The written schedule for the morning extended day program indicates that breakfast is required to be completed by 8:00 am.
b. Children who move into the preschool classes do not eat lunch until between 12:00 - 12:30 pm according to the written daily schedule.
2. The program director confirmed that breakfast was offered between 7:00am and 8:00 am and that children did not eat lunch until 11:30 am - 12:00 pm.Plan of Correction: The program director provided an adjusted schedule for eating which states:
*Morning Snack will be served between 9:45 am - 10:00 am
*Lunch will be served between 11:45 am and 12:30 pm
*Afternoon Snack will be served at 3:15 pm.
