An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 06/06/2024. Two licensing staff were on site from approximately 9:53am until 1:05pm. There were 103 children present with 15 staff supervising. There was a total of seven classrooms visited, ranging in ages from infants to school age. Children were observed in variety of activities art activities, playing outside, playing with building blocks. Inspectors interacted with staff and children in care. Staff interacted with children in a positive manner.
The inspectors reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 10 child records and 10 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions, please reach out to the licensing inspector.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure staff records had documentation to demonstrate that the individual possesses training as required in 8VAC20-780-245.

1. Out of 10 staff records reviewed, seven staff did not contain the required documentation regarding annual trainings.

Evidence:
1. In classroom 2 for children 16-months to two-years-old, the changing pad had a large hole in the top corner, making the surface absorbent.
