This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/18/20 and concluded on 5/18/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 18 children present with three staff supervising. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children's records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with one standard that is documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
If you have further questions about this inspection please contact Donna Liberman at 540-359-5244 or Donna.Liberman@dss.virginia.gov.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-3-c Description: Based on review of documentation, and an interview with the director, the center did not have a staff member with current Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification in the building. Evidence: Staff MAT certification expired 10/22/19. No staff have current current MAT certification. Plan of Correction: We did not realize that since nobody here has medication. We have plans to obtain updated certification as soon as feasible.
