Technical Assistance:

Discussed records children's and staff. If updating records make sure you move all the required paperwork from one file to the next. Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/01/24 and concluded on the same day., as a part of licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:40 and ended at 12:00. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 11 children present and 3 caregiver; the point total was 30. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records . This inspection included document review, a tour of the facility, interviews and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description:	A child's records shall have two emergency contacts. The review of 4 children's record, resulted in two records, Child 1 and 3, missing the second emergency contact.
Plan of Correction:	I will ask the parents for this information this evening.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-180-A
Description:	Each caregiver must have a subsequent TB screening done evert two years. A household member TB screening was last done 4/19/22 and has not been updated.
Plan of Correction:	I will send the household member to get the TB screening done.
