This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/27/2020 and concluded on 11/18/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 56 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children's records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with licensing regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on record review and discussion, the center failed to ensure that the center obtained documentation that each child has received the immunizations required by the State Board of Health before the child can attend the center.
Evidence:
The record for Child #1 had a documented first date of attendance as 07/18/2020. The date as printed on the child's immunization record was 03/02/2020. The date from the child's health care provider was also dated 03/02/2020 and signed by the health care provider. The immunization record was not obtained by the center before the child attended the center. 2. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on record review, the center failed to ensure that all staff had a fingerprint background check as a part of the background check process prior to hire.
