This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on January 7, 2022. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were no children(0 pts) present due to weather related issues. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and two staff records, and two household records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-140-B-3 Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider did not obtain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as appropriate to the age of the children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1's record contained an expired certificate for certification in CPR. The certificate expired on 12/4/2021.
2. Staff #1 confirmed that the CPR certification expired.Plan of Correction: The staff will complete a CPR class at the end of the month.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-140-B-4 Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider did not obtain current certification in first aid.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1's record contained documentation of an expired certificate for first aid. The first aid certificate expired on 12/4/2021.
2. Staff #1 confirmed that first aid certification was not obtained.Plan of Correction: The staff member will complete a first aid class at the end of the month.
