This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitor inspection was initiated and concluded on December 29, 2020. The program director was contacted by telephone to initiate the virtual, remote inspection. There were five children present with three staff. The inspector reviewed a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s and two staff records during the virtual, remote inspection to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to demonstrate compliance regarding hazardous substances are kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1 - There is spray bottle sitting on a counter top, in the infant classroom. This is an unlocked location.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to demonstrate compliance that when food is brought from home is will be in a container that is clearly dated.
Evidence:
1 - Four out of four lunch boxes reviewed during the inspection do not have any date on them.
