Comments:
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 9/11/2024. The inspection began at 11:55 and ended at 1:30. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 14 children present and 3 staff.
The inspector reviewed 4 children?s record. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A
Description: The center shall keep a file for each child that should have documentation of the child's identity and age.
Child #3 did not have documentation of identity and age.

Plan of Correction: Staff will get the proof of age and identity from the parents.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-F
Description: Centers shall provide snacks that follow the most recent, age appropriate nutritional requirements of the USDA.

The snack menu had non USDA approved snack items.

Plan of Correction: Staff will work with school staff to have items that meet the USDA requirements.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-F-4
Description: Children three years of age or younger may not offered foods that are considered to be potential choking hazards.

The snack menu had potential snack items (chips) on it.

Plan of Correction: Staff will work with school staff to remove the potential choking hazards from the menu.
