The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
- Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 09/01/2020 and concluded on 09/02/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 30 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 8 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-I Description: Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure there was a one-day's emergency supply of formula for the children in care, maintained at the center.
Evidence:
The center had powdered infant formula in their emergency bag, however did not have a water source to make the formula if at an evacuation site.Plan of Correction: The center will use prepared formula and if not available will ensure there is water included in the emergency kit to activate the infant formula.
