This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was completed on November 19, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone (video call) to initiate the inspection. There were four children present and in the care of the provider and an assistant. The inspector was able to view all required documentation. The provider's record, a staff member's record and two children's record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of two records and confirmation from the provider, the provider failed to obtain a National Criminal Background Check through fingerprinting for one staff member.
Evidence:
1. There was no completed National Criminal Background Check in the record for Staff Member #1. Date of hire was 11/09/2020.
3. The provider confirmed that she had forgotten to obtain a National Criminal Background Check for Staff Member #1.Plan of Correction: The provider immediately made an appointment for the staff member to go to a FieldPrint office and have her fingerprints taken. She will send the results to the licensing inspector as soon as they are received.
