This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A remote inspection was conducted via Zoom. A total of 61 children with 12 staff were present. Observation of Classrooms 4,5 and 6 was completed. The children were observed having morning snack that consisted of cheese sticks and fresh fruit. One child per table were observed to ensure social distancing. Some children were observed wearing masks and all staff had masks on. A review of medication, evacuation drills, attendance, 3 children's files and 2 staff files was completed. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-4 Description: Based on staff record review, one background check was not completed.
Evidence: Staff #1 was hired on 05/16/2019. A Sex Offender Registry search has not been requested for the state of New York. All existing staff who have lived outside of Virginia in the past five years were required to have a Sex Offender search by 12/31/2020.Plan of Correction: We will request the Sex Offender search today and print a copy of the results and maintain in the staff record. We will forward the search results to the Licensing Inspector for review within 10 days.
