Technical assistance was offered regarding: cleaning procedures; out of state background checks and Senate Bill 668.
- Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 11/13/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 30 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-4 Description: Based on staff interview and record review, the center did not obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years, before the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's records indicate that her first date of employment was 10/5/20, and that she had resided outside of Virginia within the last 5 years.
2. When asked by the licensing inspector, Staff # 1 confirmed that her first date of employment was 10/5/20.
3. A review of Staff # 1's out of state criminal history record check showed that it was requested and received on 11/12/20.Plan of Correction: Out of state background checks will be completed on time.
