An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
Thirty-eight children were in care with seven staff and an administrator.
The children were resting and eating a snack.
You reported that you are not currently using the playground equipment. It was not inspected.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on a tour of the physical plant, the facility failed to ensure that all cleaning products are locked securely.
Evidence:
1. In the schoolers' room, there are two bottles of spray disinfectant, two bottles of toilet bowl cleaner and one bottle of Lysol in the upper cabinet. The door on the cabinet is not locked.Plan of Correction: The assistant director will ensure that the cleaning products are moved to the locked cleaning cabinet in the hall.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on temperature measurement of running water, the facility failed to ensure that the temperature does not exceed 120 degrees.
Evidence:
1. The water temperature in the hall bathroom is 138 degrees.Plan of Correction: The assistant director will send a request today that the maintenance person turn down the water temperature.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on observation during rest time, the facility failed to ensure that all resting children have a top and bottom cover.
Evidence:
1. Nine of 19 resting children do not have a bottom cover on their rest mats.Plan of Correction: The assistant director will ensure that each child has a top and bottom cover on their rest mats and will retrain staff with this information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on the review of seven staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff have all the required background checks.
Evidence:
1. There is no Virginia Central Registry background check on file for staff #1, 2 and 4.Plan of Correction: The assistant director will ensure that all staff members complete central registry background checks within 30 days of hire.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on the review of seven staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff have all the required background checks.
Evidence:
1. There is no out of state background check on file for staff #4 and 7, both of whom reported having lived in another state within the past five years.Plan of Correction: The assistant director will ensure that all staff members complete out-of-state central registry background checks.
