When reviewing medication, one child's medication pre measured dose did not match the dosage written on the medication authorization form. The medication was never administered to the child. Inspector pointed out the error to the site director to have the parent correct the authorization form.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:30pm-3:00pm. There were 61 children directly supervised by 11 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed watching children's programs and transitioning to nap. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P Description: Based on a review of medication, the center failed to send medication home or dispose of medication abandoned by parents within 14 days of the expiration of the medication authorization.
Evidence:
Child 3's medication authorization expired in September 2023. The medication was present at the center on the date of inspection.Plan of Correction: 1. Medication form (temp 10 days) was completed by parents on date of inspection and a long term form was received w/doctor signature on 12/14/2023.
2. Staff will check medication lock box monthly to ensure medication and forms are up to date.
