This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on July 27, 2021 and concluded on July 27, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were five children present, ranging in ages from two years to three years, with two staff supervising. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on interview and review of the emergency evacuation drill log, the provider did not ensure emergency evacuation procedures were practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care.
Evidence:
1. The emergency evacuation drill log did not have documentation of any evacuation drills being completed during the months of May and June of 2021.
2. The provider stated emergency evacuation drills were not conducted during May and June of 2021.Plan of Correction: Per the provider, I did not realize they were required monthly. I thought they were due quarterly but now I am aware of the requirement. I conducted one today, 07/27/2021 and will continue to complete and document the emergency evacuation drills every month.
