8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed in detail (8VAC20-790-170.G) the requirements for a vendor to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all caregivers, a current written list of all children?s allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was started on 9-4-2024 and concluded on 9-5-2024. There were 9 children present with 2 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on (9-18-2024). A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website

Description: Based on record review and vendor interviews, the vendor did not ensure all caregiver have obtained updated CPR appropriate for the ages of children in care.

Evidence: Caregiver #2 CPR certification expired in April 2024.

Description: Based on record review and vendor interviews, the vendor did not ensure all caregiver have obtained updated First Aid appropriate for the ages of children in care.

Evidence: Caregiver #2 First Aid certification expired in April 2024.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver will have completed by 9-26-2024.
