A monitoring inspection was conducted on January 9, 2023. There were thirty-three children present with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and four staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on review, facility did not ensure 2 of 5 staff records have required background checks within the required timeframes.
Evidence: The following was found during review of staff records:
1. The record for staff #1 (start date 10/17/2022) had documentation the individual had lived outside the state of Virginia within the past five years however there was not a completed criminal records checks prior to employment for one of the states noted.
2. The record for staff #3 (start date 11/28/2022) had documentation the individual had lived outside the state of Virginia within the past five years however there was not documentation that a search of the child abuse and neglect registry was submitted for that state within thirty days of beginning employment.Plan of Correction: Not available online.
