An announced initial inspection was conducted on May 8,2024 from 10:15 A.M.-11:30 A.M. There were no children in care. The providers home, and all areas to be used for child care were toured and inspected. Items reviewed during the inspection included required posted information, first aid kit, non-medical emergency supplies, emergency preparedness, nutrition, and diapering requirements. One caregiver record and one household member records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
A recommendation will be made for a six month conditional license for a capacity of 5 serving children 18 months-6 years of age.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-770 Description: Based on review of non-medical emergency supplies, the provider failed to ensure that there was a working portable battery-operated weather band radio available.
Evidence:
There was not a battery operated radio in the home.Plan of Correction: The provider ordered a radio and will send a picture to the inspector once it arrives.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-790 Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to post the required telephone numbers.
Evidence:
1. There was not a posting of telephone number for 911 or local dial number for police, fire, and emergency medical responders;the regional poison control center; and the responsible person for emergency back-up care.
2. The provider verified that the telephone numbers were not posted.Plan of Correction: The provider created a list of emergency number to post both upstairs and downstairs. The provider sent a picture of the posted number to the licensing inspector.
