This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on October 13, 2020 and concluded on October 22, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (27) children present and (6) staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (3) children?s records (5) staff records and (4) board officer records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-C-1-B Description: Based on record review, the center failed to obtain a central registry seach for one board officer.
Evidence:
1. Four board officer's background checks were reviewed.
2. Officer C did not have documentation of obtaining a central registry search within 30 days of assuming responsibilities on the board.
3. The director confirmed a central registry search for officer C had not been completed within 30 days.
4. Officer C did not have documentation of obtaining a fingerprint check prior to assuming responsibilities on the board.
5. The director confirmed a fingerprint check had not been obtained prior to assuming boad officer responsibilities.Plan of Correction: Central Registry search was completed and sent on October 22, 2020. Documentation will be sent to the licensing inspector.
A fingerprint appointment will be sceduled as soon as possible. Documentaiton will be sent to the licensing inspector.
