This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on June 9, 2020 and concluded on June 9,2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 23 children present and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on a review of three staff records and an interview, the center did not request an Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect search by the end of the 30th day of employment for one staff. Evidence: 1. The licensing inspector observed the record for Staff #1 indicated the first day of employment on 8/23/19 and no Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect search request was observed. 2. Administration stated they were unable to locate the search request during the inspection. Plan of Correction: Administration will ensure the background check is requested and documented.
