The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Discussion documentation of the required orientation training which occurs on a staff's first day of employment.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An announced Monitoring inspection was completed today. A total of 153 children with 20 staff were on site. This inspection required the Director to submit documents for review and a Zoom meeting to complete the inspection. A total of 3 staff and 3 children's records were reviewed today. Some of the required documentation was granted leniency due to Covid-19. A total of 9 classrooms operating which includes a school aged classroom for virtual learning. Staff and all children wear masks and protocols in place regarding health screenings which include an online health assessment for parents to complete prior to arrival. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on staff record review, one background check was not received prior to the staff's first day.
Evidence: Staff #1 was hired on 9/8/20. The fingerprint search result was not received until 9/14/20.Plan of Correction: We will ensure all background checks are obtained within the timeframe required.
