This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 10, 2021 and concluded on June 11, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 89 children present and 17 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of five staff records and interview, the facility did not obtain results of the fingerprint based national criminal background check by 09/30/2018 for one staff hired prior to
Evidence:
1. For employees hired prior to 01/01/2018, facilities had until 09/30/2018 to obtain results of the national fingerprint background check.
2. The record of staff #5, hired 05/20/2014, had documentation of the national fingerprint background check dated 07/10/2020
3. The administration stated that the original national fingerprint background check could not be located.Plan of Correction: Per the administration: I am certain a fingerprint background check was completed in the required time frame however documentation of the original fingerprint could not be located. An undated fingerprint was completed. Going forward, previous background checks will be maintained for the record.
