Technical Assistance:

Technical assistance provided regarding Standard 22VAC40-131-370-documenting attempts to involve the birth parent in the development of the individualized service plan goals and objectives of children/youth in care. Technical assistance provided regarding Standard 22VAC40-131-250.P-documenting efforts to maintain sibling groups in the same placement.

Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on February 22, 2022 from 8:30 am-5:00 pm and February 23, 2022 at 7:30am to 4:30 pm. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an approved alternative remote/hybrid protocol. The licensee reports a total of thirty (30) foster children in care at this location. The licensee reports a total of thirty-three (33) active foster homes for this location. There was one (1) new staff hired since the last inspection. The following is a list of activities for this inspection: 1. Three (3) foster child records reviewed 2. Three (3) foster home provider records reviewed 3. One (1) staff record reviewed 4. Updated policy and procedures reviewed Staff were available for the exit interview which commenced at approximately 4:00 p. m. on February 23, 2022. There were no citations for violation of Standards for Licensed Child-Placing Agencies. The licensee should retain a copy to be posted at the facility. Results of the inspection are subject to public disclosure and will be posted on the Virginia Department of Social Services public web site within five business days.
