Technical Assistance:

22VAC40-131-190: Technical assistance provided via the problem solving conference process. The agency is asked to consider the entire home when making determinations regarding capacity. While homes may be able to serve youth in a particular bedroom, the home's capacity to serve youth should be considered (i.e. other furnishings, dining table, bathroom, and family room should be able to accommodate the capacity).

Comments:

A monitoring inspection was initiated on July 16, 2021 and concluded on July 22, 2021. The Program Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. The Program Director reported that the current census was 20 foster children and 34 foster home providers. There were no newly hired staff since the last inspection. The inspector emailed the Program Director a list of items required to complete the remote documentation review portion of the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 foster child records, 4 complete foster home provider records and 5 additional foster home records (background checks only) submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. An exit interview was conducted with agency representatives on July 22, 2021, where findings were reviewed and an opportunity was given for questions, as well as for providing any information or documentation which was not available during the inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
